Milk Chocolate Chip & Peanut Butter Cake

I locked myself in to buying a lamb today.  Hope everyone likes lamb!  I’m actually really excited about the lamb. I really enjoy lamb meat but hardly ever buy it because it is so expensive. Plus, I have an ulterior motive.

We put in for permits to hunt deer, elk, and/or antelope last year but didn’t draw.  So I still have yet to eat something I’ve killed myself (except fish).  This year we put in for deer, elk, and antelope permits again.  I figure if we have a freezer full of lamb and don’t really need the meat then we will draw on a hunt for sure!

I will let you know how that all plays out.  In the meantime here is a great cake recipe.  You can frost it if you want, but it doesn’t need it.  I pinned the Bake Or Break recipe I adapted it from over a year ago. It may just be the first pin I actually got around to actually drawing from. I added peanut butter (among a few other changes).  I can’t tell you when this peanut butter/chocolate obsession is ever going to end.  Maybe never!
Milk Chocolate Chip & Peanut Butter Cake

Ingredients:

-2 & 3/4 cups flour
-1 tsp. baking soda
-1 tsp. salt
– ½ c. (1 stick) butter melted slightly (I used unsalted)
-1 c. creamy peanut butter
-1 c. dark brown sugar
– ½ c. granulated sugar
-1 Tbsp. vanilla
-4 eggs
– ½ c. milk
– ½ c. sour cream
-10 to 12 oz. milk chocolate chips

Preheat your oven to 350°. Line a 9” X 13” with foil backed parchment paper.

In a small bowl stir together flour, soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl cream together butter, peanut butter, sugar, and vanilla. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each egg addition.
Add half of the flour mixture and beat until blended.  Add the milk and sour cream and beat until blended.  Add the rest of the flour mixture and beat until blended.

Stir in ¾ of the chocolate chips. Scrape batter into parchment lined pan and spread out evenly.  Top evenly with remaining chocolate chips.

Bake for 45 to 50 minutes.  Let cake cool.  Lift cake from pan grasping exposed parchment.  Peel away sides of parchment paper and cut cake into squares. EAT!!!

    1. Sometimes I just write about whatever random things are on my mind because I’m a little nutty. And there are only so many times you can profess your complete passion for peanut butter. Sometimes it gets a little muddled, Sorry.
