Stockman’s Restaurant

I was going through these photos for this post and I began to feel really sad and hungry. Sad because I want to go out to Stockman’s Restaurant every night and hungry because, well, just look at the photos!  Ben and I went to Stockman’s about two weeks ago.  We have a great experience every time we go there.  But this time I remembered to bring my camera, and Will (our three year old) was good for about 20 whole minutes (usually we get maybe 5 good minutes before he is rolling around on the floor under the feet of the busy wait staff)!  Luckily Stockman’s is just the right amount of loud too.  You can easily talk to the people at your own table, but you can’t really hear the people around you.  Stockman’s has a great family-friendly environment. But it is also a place that would impress a date!  The décor reminds me of a rustic winter cabin retreat intertwined with a little sportsman-meets-sports-fan.  The food is in keeping with this rustic theme but with clever upscale twists on traditional bar and grill fare.
A perfect example is their Quesadilla Poppers.  I have ordered this appetizer every time we have been to Stockman’s.  And every time it is delivered to the table I say, “This appetizer is too simple to be this good!” And then we happily scarf it down!
We always order different items for our entrees – sometimes burgers, other times we’ve had pasta.  This particular night I guess we were both in the mood for a steak.  I have heard great things about their “Zesty Steak.” It traditionally comes as a sirloin, but I prefer tenderloin. So I ordered a tenderloin “Zesty Steak” style (smothered in jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, and Stockman’s signature zesty sauce). It was perfectly cooked, as you can plainly see, and tasted amazing.  Ben wanted prime rib but we had arrived late and they were out so he opted for a “Mediterranean Rib Eye.” It was topped with shrimp and smothered with a creamy garlic Alfredo sauce, parmesan cheese, and sautéed mushrooms.  I do not think he will ever order anything other than a “Mediterranean Rib Eye” at Stockman’s ever again!  In fact, we may never get away with just a plain grilled steak at home ever again!  It may have just been the best steak Ben has ever had in his entire life!  Will had chicken strips but he did not touch them because he was too enthralled with the super fun smiley-face fries that were served with the chicken.  He ate every last one, “except for the one I snuck (they were actually really good, like little fried pockets of creamy mashed potatoes)!”
Thank you, Stockman’s Restaurant, for such a great dining experience.  We will be back again soon!
