A Pound of Heaven on Earth

Here is a funny story.  Ben and I went to Kmart to do a little Christmas shopping.  Ben spotted these 1 pound Reese’s candy bars.   Reese’s are Ben and Will’s most favorite candy bars in the world.  We bought two of them.  We were taking the next two days off from our strict diets so Ben was really excited at this find.  We went home and Ben placed the 2 lbs. of solid chocolate and peanut butter in the fridge.  The next morning Will knocked on the fridge door, and then opened it, to let us know he wanted some milk.  He immediately spotted the Reese’s and began to shriek and bawl for them.  We decided we would let him have a little.  Realizing the photo opportunity, I ran for my camera. He was completely pissed off when I made him pose with the unopened candy bar before we would let him open it.  It was hilarious!  The rest is history written in these photos.
I literally try to never watch, or listen, to the news.  Today I went to the dentist for a routine cleaning and on my way there I heard the news about the shooting in Newtown Connecticut.  It made me sick to my stomach.
On my way home I decided that my cold really isn’t that bad after all and it is OK to take a week off from running every once in a while.  Both my blogs need a ton of work, but it will gradually happen. Work is stressful, but I have a good job, and I don’t hate it.  I can stop with the sour mood I have blanketed myself in this week because NOTHING in my life is bad.  I have the best husband and the two best kids on the planet. Life is really good in my tiny nook in this world!
I will probably never be a good enough writer to express how bad I feel for all of those people.  How my heart and stomach muscles tighten and all I want to do is hug, and stare at, my husband and children when I think of them. I feel so sorry for everyone involved.

  1. I can’t imagine how those parents feel. We should all feel lucky for the loved ones in our lives.

I’m in shock! I used to live there! In Sandy Hook!! So sad…
On a lighter note, when are those Reese’s gonna be a giveaway prize!! 😉 I gotta get my hands on a pack of those!

  3. The news is just really numbing, isn’t it Julie? Enjoy your boys, treasure some off time with them, and be glad for your wonderful little family.

Hope you all have a terrific Christmas.
    Kel.

I have been blogging about this for the past two days. Pretty terrible.

On the brighter side, Will sure is a winner in these images!
