Weight Update (for March 1st. 2013)

I have been debating with myself about whether or not to post this for the last seven days.  On one hand I want to be completely honest with myself and anyone who reads this blog.  On the other hand it is embarrassing and I don’t want to discourage people.  But I decided that honesty is the best policy and that maybe, if I can get my butt in gear over the next couple of months, I can get back down to a more comfortable “fighting weight.” And, if I can do that, I can prove to myself and you that I can bounce back from little setbacks.  I also want to show myself that, even if I screw up a goal or decide that a goal I set is just not going to work for me, I can find something else that will work and keep moving in a positive direction with my health, weight, and fitness.  I have to constantly remind myself that it is a lifetime journey.  I have plenty of time to figure this out.  And if I don’t, well then I am dead and it doesn’t matter.
What went wrong?  I have to ask myself this because if I don’t know why I gained 7 lbs. since February 1st then how can I fix it? Number one, I have not kept all of my New Year’s resolutions.  I probably should not have set goals that I absolutely would not keep!  I have stuck with my running, push-up, and crunches goals (so I am good there) because I like to do those things.  But, I have not weight/strength trained even once!  This does not surprise me all that much because I hate weight training almost as much as I hate school! So I am taking the weight training out of the equation.  But, I know that strength training is important so I have come up with a new solution to that.  If I can afford to do what I want to do I will share my new Idea with you in the next month (or so)?  Until then I will keep running and doing my crunches and push-ups.  As for the diet (and we all know it is 99% about diet when it comes to weight loss), I have really dropped the ball!  I have had a hard time getting back into the groove of counting the calories of everything I eat.  I exceeded my 1200 calorie a day resolution.  Mostly I think that little surgery in February set me back and I have not come back from it 100% yet.  But, I promise, come April 1st.  I will be back down to at least 135 lbs.!  That is my weight loss goal right now (sometimes you have to return to baby steps for a while).  Maybe by then I will be able to share my new strength training idea.
Another thing I can’t seem to keep up with is my Friday/Sunday (Fit/Sinful) food post idea.  Obviously, one of the reasons I have not kept up with the fit recipe idea is because I have not been creating them all that much.  I am going to get back to that and try to post more fit recipes in the future.  But, I am scraping the Friday/Sunday thing.  I just can’t give myself that kind of a tight schedule right now.  But I am still going to post fit and sinful recipes.  It will just be a random schedule like before.  I also want to post more about my fitness stuff.  We will be signing up for our races very soon!  I am excited to have those dates set.  I am also sitting on a book review post and a Food Truck review post.  So, stay tuned for those.
Have a great weekend everyone!!!
