{protein waffles: recipe below}

19 weeks out!

I’m going to start posting recipes any time I post a food pic.

Just keep in mind that you will have to use the exact ingredients I use if you want the exact same macros I have posted here.

I’ve also discovered that not all protein powders are created equal when it comes to cooking with them.

So far I’ve used:

Quest Cookies & Cream Protein Powder

Quest Salted Caramel Protein Powder

Pure Protein Vanilla Cream

and ISOPURE Zero Carb Creamy Vanilla (DO NOT USE THIS FOR COOKING!)

The first three worked perfectly! The ISOPURE did not work! I nearly choked to death it was so dry!

Now, don’t get me wrong. As a regular protein powder for a shake ISOPURE is great. Just don’t cook with it.

Also, do not try to use egg whites only for a protein pancake or waffle recipe (if the recipe says whole egg, use a whole egg).  I’ve been trying to use egg white only to try to cut calories but it has not worked even one time with any of my powders.

Ingredients

  • 32 g cookies and cream protein powder Quest
  • 13 g Superfood Protein Pancake Mix Peanut-Mallow Cookie Flavor
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 Tbsp. water
  • Cooking Spray I used PAM
  • Toppings:
  • 75 g fresh raspberries
  • 3 Tbsp. 18 g powdered peanut butter (I used Peanut Butter & Co. Vanilla)
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp. water to mix with the peanut butter powder
  • 2 Tbsp. Walden Farms Pancake Syrup warmed in the microwave for 15 seconds

Instructions

  1. Heat a waffle iron. (I have a mini waffle maker that makes exactly 3 waffles with this recipe.)
  2. Using an electric hand mixer blend together the protein powder, pancake mix, egg, and water together until smooth.
  3. Spray waffle iron with cooking spray and pour on the batter.
  4. Shut the lid and cook for ~2 minutes. Until waffle is golden brown.
  5. Mix the peanut butter powder and water (a little at a time) until desired consistency is reached.
  6. Top with peanut butter, raspberries, and syrup. EAT!!!
