figure competition prep. my daily journal

{tonight’s dinner}

Weighed in at 135.6 lbs. (that’s 2.6 lbs. ⬆️ since last Friday).
This is a great example of how the scale is not your best “friend” or indicator!

Because, my Body Fat came in at at 17.4%!

Now, it’s damn near impossible to gain 2.6 lbs. of muscle (or fat) in 1 week!

So, don’t think I’m attributing the gain to either of those.

There are a bunch of reasons your body weight fluctuates. Hormones, water retention, sodium levels (causing water retention), etc……

The main reason I weigh myself every single week is to spot a possible trend. If my weight started going up every week for 3-4 weeks then I need to take a close look at my food journal or workout routines and see if I’m doing something different that might be affecting my progress.

It’s interesting to me how my body holds onto the fat on my butt, hips, and thighs. Those areas are going to be tough!

When we tested my body fat my measurements came in lowest around my waist. Which wasn’t a surprise. There’s a huge visible difference. That’s obviously your best indicator. But, the #s are a great mental motivator!
