Food Scenes From Our Christmas Eve

Ben’s Mother, Deanna, makes amazing arrangements of goodies every year!

I just wanted it to be hassle free and easy this year, and it was.  I made Bacon, Ranch, Cheeseburger Soup and Hot Artichoke and Spinach Cheese Bread.  Everyone else brought something wonderful to go with what I made.  We played 99 (a card game) for lottery tickets.  It turned out the same way as every other year, a return of about $20 on about $50 in lottery tickets.  But no matter because the night was really fun.  I love nothing more than to be with my family! Dad sketched “the claw from our childhood.” It was a great evening!

I ate probably 3/4 of these, sorry if you did not get one!
A tray of Christmas goodies is not complete without her signature “Spritz” cookies!
Any party is not complete without a 7 layer Mexican Dip, Thanks Dawn!
These baked potato balls had a wonderful flavor and texture, Thanks Granny!
Hot Artichoke and Spinach Cheese Bread

Ingredients:
-8 oz. cream cheese (room temperature)
-8 oz. mayonnaise
-8 oz. sour cream
-10 oz. fresh spinach (wilted in the microwave, and squeezed to remove excess water)
-two 14.5 oz. cans quartered artichoke hearts (drained)
-2 Tbsp. fresh squeezed lemon juice
-5 oz. container Parmesan & Romano blend shaved cheese (divided in half)
-2 loaves French bread
Preheat your oven to 350 ° F. In a large mixing bowl combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, and vegetable recipe mix.  Stir until well combined.  Add squeezed spinach, artichoke hearts lemon juice and ½ of the cheese blend.  Stir again until well combined.
Slice French bread in half horizontally (lengthwise).  If desired,  remove some of the inner excess bulk of bread. Spread each of the four halves with ¼ each of the artichoke, spinach, and cheese mixture.  Sprinkle remaining cheese over all four halves. Place bread on foil lined cookie sheets. Place in oven for ~ 20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bread is heated through.  Slice and EAT!!!
Gail’s famous sugar cookies, need I say more, except that Ben hoarded them and I only got one.
