Winner Winner! Harvest Apple, Potato & Squash Gratin Dinner

About a month ago I told you about how I had entered this recipe into a recipe contest. The contest was sponsored by one of my local Albertsons supermarkets and my local newspaper, The Post Register.
I took second place in the contest!  I received a $50 Albertsons gift card and they (The Post Register) published my recipe in a little holiday cookbook (insert) they sent out to all subscribers in one of their newspapers last week.
The following pic shows my recipe in the booklet.  I have no idea who Connie Clawson is except that she is a real estate agent and her image is now gracing one of the posts in my blog!

So here I am brag, brag, bragging about myself!
Thank you to Albertsons and The Post Register for hosting this contest.  It’s fun to compete and  share my recipes with other people and actually get positive feedback from people who have no vested interest in me.  Don’t get me wrong, I thrive on the feedback from my family, but it is nice every so often to get that stranger recognition.
P.S. Congratulations to the 1st Place White Chili (on the cover)!

  1. Congratulations!!! One step closer to having your own cooking show and quitting Radcon. I didn’t win the lottery again and that was my best shot at not having to report back to work.

Hey, Happy Thanksgiving! Sorry about the lottery. If it makes you feel any better we and like 175 million other people didn’t win either.

Granny said you were cooking for your family today. I am sure it will be amazing! I wonder if you will be making your apple custard pie? I’m jealous of your family!

Julie, that’s so awesome!! Congratulations! Can I be a guest host for comic relief when you get your own cooking show? Until that happens I may just have to hire you as my personal chef, and I’ll pay to have you ship me my meals each week 🙂
