FIGURE COMPETITION PREP. MY DAILY JOURNAL

We traveled to Boise yesterday to watch a couple of people we know from our GYM compete in the NPC Idaho Cup (a bodybuilding competition).

Both of them were competing in the figure division.

Watching made me nervous and confident at the same time.

Nervous because it’s going to be a lot of work and because I feel like there are some elements that are pretty much of of my control. For example, the literal shape of my body is out of my control and I don’t know what I’m going to end up looking like.

Confident because when you’re up close and personal you can see all their imperfections and you realize that everybody has them. None of them are perfect. (Whatever that really means.) All the competitors are normal people who made goals and then worked super hard to reach them regardless of whatever genetic hands they were dealt.
