figure competition prep. my daily journal

{KEURIG 2.0}

Is my coffee maker really preheating? Or is it actually playing a game of “Trivial Pursuit?”

Why am I such a nerd?

I believe I’m eating too much protein! I never really considered it (getting too much protein) an issue because people (in articles I read and vlogs I watch) are always stressing about getting all their protein in and making their protein goals! And you’re bombarded by protein, protein, protein! They put extra protein in everything now! Bread, oatmeal, cream cheese, peanut butter, chips, pancakes, waffles, cereal, English muffins, regular muffins, and, of course, bars.

I was reading an article the other day about protein intake and it said that too much protein can be bad for your kidneys. But then other articles I’ve read say the opposite. It seems like I can find research to support what ever I “feel like” doing.

Based on this calculator I found on bodybuilding.com if I consider myself “the most active” and I’m trying to “gain muscle” I should still eat under 200 grams per day. I’ve routinely been eating over 200 grams per day!

The reason this happened is that I was using the 40% P/40% C/ 20% F ratios. When I upped my calories to over 2000 per day “to build muscle” that put me over the 200 grams of protein per day.

I should have adjusted my intakes for more carbs and a little less protein. I don’t think it’s affected me too much, but I’m interested in changing the ratios and seeing if it makes a difference in muscle growth or how I feel physically.

I’ve been feeling really good physically for months! So I hope this doesn’t change that negatively. I’m hoping I feel even more energetic and gain even more muscle!

We’ll see!
